    1. Francine, thank you for stopping by! Can you explain to me what a blogfest is? I have to admit, I'm new to the idea.

  3. Hey there, great way to get me interested…talking exactly to me! I love romance…especially contemporary.

A blogfest is when someone announces that they are hosting a specifice theme on a specific day…for example, a kissing blogfest. There is always a linky…which is a way to enter your website in the blogfest.

Then on the day the host chooses, everyone posts, on their own website, something of their writing that has to do with kissing. Your blogpost for that day also has to have a link back to the host's website so that others can click on the other entries to read them. It is also considered polite to comment on the posts of the other entrants although some of the blogfests can have up to 100 entries and so I just try to hit the ones that interest me. Its a way to network with other writers, get your work read and commented on, and garner followers that share your interest in writing.

Hope that helps! You can see a list of blogfests on my website's side bar, but most writers have a tab or something with upcoming blogfests that they hear about.

    Happy Writing!

    1. Raquel,

It was about three in the morning when I woke up with the sudden realization that I’ve been catering my blog to writers, rather than to my target audience, my reader. I’ve been handwriting letters to my friends, and feel as though I need more practice.

      Blogging to the rescue!

I like to think each one of my blog posts is like a love letter to my reader. Because really, isn’t that what we authors are doing? Courting our readers for their fickle favor?

In terms of blogfests, I’ve just joined one; in fact, I have a post in the works where I talk about it. I really like the idea, it seems like such fun!
